Born 1977, in Avola (SR). In 2002 he obtained his Diploma in Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Catania. In 2007 he qualified in Plastics, again, at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Catania. He has participated in various important events with curators and critics such as’ Francesco Poli, Tommaso Trini, Martina Corgnati, Fujumi Namioka, etc…
His work mainly consists of installations, but also video, performance and sculpture – always centred around an ‘ironic-playful’ nucleus, characterised by a desire to explore direct contact with the spectator; at times actively involving them, at times catching them off-guard, but always inciting a problematic reflection on reality.
In 2007, he took the “Manufatto in Situ” workshop with Hidetoshi Nagasawa, at the Arte in Cancelli Park, Foligno (PG), an event promoted by the VIAIDUSTRIALE Association, in collaboration with the Arte in Cancelli Park Association, by Emanuele De Donno and Federico Adriani.
In the same year, he participated in the ISIDEM workshop with Artur Zmijewski, at Montevergini’s Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art, Syracuse, by Salvatore Lacagnina. In 2006, he met Andrea Bartoli, a Sicilian notary, and collector and producer of Contemporary Art. For him, Alonge created a series of works on behalf of FARM and FAB. He has exhibited at the Luciana Matalon Museum Foundation (Milan), at the Peano Foundation (Cuneo), at the Leonardiano di Vinci Museum (Florence) and at the Civic Gallery of Modern Art (Palermo)
In December 2000, he was First Prize winner of the Regional Renzo Collura prize for young artists, held at Grotte (AG) by Tommaso Trini. In the same year, he won the 5th Edition of the PRIMA PARETE IN CONCERTO, at the Castello Ursino Civic Museum in Catania, an event by Giovanna Giordano.
His works belong to the Contemporary Art Collection of the Bartoli Felter Foundation in Cagliari. He is currently completing the second year of his biennio specialistico (two-year specialisation course) in Sculpture, at Catania’s Accademia di Belle Arti. He lives and works in Catania.
